The database contains variety of 3D images of breast cancers with irregular shapes, collected from routine patient examinations or dedicated scientific experiments, as well as, images of relevant phantoms and simulated tumour models. It has been created to serve as a valuable imaging data source for researchers, working on breast imaging and early breast cancer detection with existing or newly developed imaging modalities.
Besides boosting the research activities, the database is expected to contribute towards improved and more attractive education in the field of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering at the participating universities in the project implementation.
