For the third time MaXIMA’s team participated in the Annual Forum “Physics in the protection of humans and the environment”. The forum was hosted by the Bulgarian Society of Biomedical Physics and Engineering (BSBPE), during 29 June – 1 July 2018.
Since its beginning in 2016, the MaXIMA project has raised the interest among the scientific community in this field. In order to address the recent needs, the MaXIMA team organized a Special Workshop on “Medical Applications for 3D Printing”, incorporated in the program of the event. A total of eight presentations have been given, introducing different recent aspects of the specific domain:
– 3D printing of anthropomorphic phantoms;
– Tumour segmentation from real tomographic images;
– Computer modelling of breast tumours;
– Tumour growth modelling;

Closing the forum, the BSBPE president expressed gratitude and highly appreciated the participation of the MaXIMA team in the annual forum.
